Quality checks, and what they do not cover
Superbuy photographs every item it receives at no extra charge. Knowing what that photo set is for, and what it will never show you, is the difference between a useful check and a false sense of safety.

What the free check actually is
Step five of the official guide is the inspection. Items arriving at the warehouse are checked, photographed, and stored, and the operator says it will contact you immediately if there is a problem. There is no charge for this.
One line in that step is easy to miss and worth a lot: products purchased from 1688 follow a different set of quality control standards. 1688 is a wholesale platform, and wholesale goods are inspected as wholesale goods. If you are ordering from there, do not assume the retail standard applies.
The same step restates the 90 day free storage window, because inspection and storage are one event: the clock starts when the item lands.

Method
How to read a QC photo set in two minutes
A default check answers one question: is this the thing you ordered, and is it obviously broken. Work through it in a fixed order so you do not get distracted by the parts that look fine.
- Identity first. Colour, model, size label. The most common failure is not a defect, it is the wrong variant.
- Then the things that cannot be fixed later. Stitching lines, print alignment, zip teeth, sole glue. Anything structural.
- Then what is missing. Dust bag, spare buttons, inner box, tags. Missing extras are easier to resolve before the parcel is packed than after it ships.
- Then decide. Keeping it is a decision, and it is the point at which the item becomes yours to ship.
If the default photos do not answer your question, the paid menu exists: re-inspection at CN¥6 per inbound record, detailed inspection at CN¥5.5 per item covering linings, zips and pockets, and a power-on test for electricals at CN¥12 per piece. Choose an extra service only when it can answer a question that affects whether you keep the item.

Upstream
How to judge a seller before any of this happens
The inspection is downstream. By the time photos exist, the money for stage one is already spent. Most of the quality question is decided when you pick a listing.
Three signals travel well across the language barrier. Sales volume on the listing, because a listing with hundreds of orders has been seen by hundreds of buyers. Buyer photographs in the review section, because staged studio shots are free and buyer photos are not. And whether the seller answers questions at all, which the buying agent can test for you through the order enquiry thread.
None of this is a guarantee. It moves the odds, which is all any of it does.
There is also a policy floor under the whole thing: the operator runs a counterfeit item policy and publishes a dedicated reporting address. Goods it classifies as counterfeit are its problem to refuse, and that is worth knowing before you build an order around a listing that looks too good.

Afterwards
When something is wrong after it arrives
Step nine of the guide is unusually frank about transit: delays, confiscation, taxes, missing and damaged parcels are all named, with the note that once a parcel is with a third party carrier the operator cannot control what happens to it.
The self-service section of the help centre is where claims start. After-sales covers not delivered, lost and damaged. Urged delivery exists for orders that have sat too long, and the help centre states it can be used after three days.
Completing the delivery review earns credit that can be set against a later delivery fee, which is the one part of the aftermath that pays you back.

Questions about checks
Do I have to pay for quality-check photos?
No. The standard check and its photos are free and happen automatically. The menu only covers extra angles, deeper inspection and video.
Can I reject an item after seeing the photos?
Returns run through the seller, not the agent, and the agent is acting on your behalf with a third party. Treat rejection as a negotiation that takes time rather than a button.
What is the difference between re-inspection and detailed inspection?
Re-inspection at CN¥6 per inbound record repeats the standard check and includes three photographs. Detailed inspection at CN¥5.5 per item goes further, into linings, zips and pockets, and looks for stains, scratches and snags.
